This butterfly bush cultivar has nearly black flowers. It can reach
up to 6-8ft tall if not cut back in late winter and 4-5ft tall if cut back.
Long terminal clusters of very dark purple flowers, which bloom from June to
late fall, can reach up to ten inches long! Flowers are fragrant and attract
butterflies. It's wonderful fragrance of course attract butterflies but is
conveniently deer resistant. Plant it with other shrubs the deer would
normally munch on and they'll stay away. Prune heavily in the winter for
longer bloom periods. Makes perfect flowering hedge rows or fence accents.
These are about 2 ft. tall and shipped in containers with a soilless media
and a 9 month slow release fertilizer. They will bloom this year.
